Things that aren’t alive aren’t alive. They don’t have life in them. They do not develop; have cells, or exhibit motility or movement. They do not, however, experience anabolic and catabolic reactions throughout metabolism. They don’t procreate.
Things that do not have a lifespan. They don’t breathe or excrete because they don’t require food for energy. They are not a part of any birth, development, or death cycle. However, they are both created and destroyed by external forces.

Characteristics of non-living things:
- Things that aren’t alive have no life. They lack both cells and the protoplasm that is necessary for life to exist.
- Without proto and bottles are processes.
- Non-living things lack essential life functions including reproduction, feeding, excretion, etc.
- Non-living creatures don’t have cells that have a predetermined lifespan, hence they never die. A distinctive characteristic is immortality.
