Gujarat Titans beat Mumbai Indians by 55 runs to register their fifth win in this tournament. With this, Gujarat has become the second team after Chennai Super Kings to score 10 points this season. In this match, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma decided to bowl first after winning the toss and Gujarat, batting first, set a target of 208 runs in front of Mumbai. In response, the Mumbai team could only score 152 runs and lost the match. No Mumbai batsman could openly play big shots in front of Gujarat’s bowling lineup.
For Gujarat, Shubman Gill scored 56, David Miller scored 46 and Abhinav Manohar scored 42 runs. In the end, Rahul Tewatia scored 20 * runs in 5 balls with 3 skyscraper sixes to reach the team’s score of 207 runs for 6 wickets. Piyush Chawla took 2 wickets for Mumbai. Shubman Gill completed his third half-century of this IPL in 30 balls. The third wicket of Gujarat Titans fell on the score of 91 runs. Shubman Gill got out after scoring 56 runs in 34 balls. He hit 7 fours and 1 six in his innings. Kumar Kartikeya got him caught long on by Suryakumar Yadav. Gill removed the front leg to clear the boundary but Surya made no mistake. Chasing a target of 208 runs, Mumbai Indians got off to a very poor start. Captain Rohit Sharma got out after scoring 2 runs in 8 balls. Gujarat captain Hardik Pandya caught his catch on his own ball. In the Powerplay, Mumbai Indians scored 29 runs losing 1 wicket. The second wicket of Mumbai Indians has fallen on the score of 43 runs. Ishaan Kishan has been dismissed after scoring 13 runs in 21 balls. Noor Ahmed clean bowled him. Green hit 3 sixes in his innings. The fifth wicket of Mumbai Indians also fell on the score of 59 runs. Tim David was dismissed without opening the account. On the full toss ball of Noor Ahmed, he handed over the catch to Abhinav Manohar. From here, Suryakumar Yadav scored 23 runs in 12 balls and Nehal Wadhera scored 40 runs in 21 balls, but both these innings proved to be insufficient.
